Second, you can fast-track the process. You know, it's really hard to find new homes when they come up. Usually, we buy tear-down properties directly from the seller. Sitting down with the designer can take six months or even more. The good news is we can fast-track. Usually, you can sit down with an architect in about a week or two.

Finally, you can target the area and the type of home to be unique and exactly what works for your family. So the disadvantage, of course, is that it takes about 18 months from beginning to end. However, that's actually a very fast process, starting from scratch.
